It's your Pal, Pal Mickey!

Jenn reminded me that I have this AWESOME addition to our family that we acquired during our Mardi Gras '08 trip that I've never blogged about: Pal Mickey.  Pal Mickey is this stuffed 10 inch Mickey doll that has a hidden infrared antenna (in his nose) that works with infrared sensors found all over the Disney parks.  He also has sensors in his hands and belly.  Pal Mickey is SO cool!  He shakes (vibrates) and giggles when he has something to tell you, and you just squeeze his hand to get the info.

He tells you when parades are about to begin ("The 3:00 parade starts in 15 minutes."), what land you just crossed into ("Welcome to Fantasyland!"), what characters are out ("I hear Captain Hook was just spotted at Pirates of the Caribbean"), and he even interacts during rides!  During the Haunted Mansion ride, we entered the ballroom scene and he shook and said, "Ooh, I'm so scared!"  He also tells you jokes, plays games, and gives lots of Disney trivia at random times.  He even tells you wait times, "I hear the Tower of Terror has a 13 minute wait!  You better 'drop' in!"  He is the COOLEST interactive toy I've ever seen.

There are different outfits that you could purchase for your Pal Mickey.  They had Rain Gear (for those wet Florida days), Safari Outfit (for AK), and they even had a Santa outfit, just to name a few.  My Pal Mickey is Sorcerer Mickey, dressed in the Sorcerer's Apprentice outfit, however, his classic red shorts are underneath!  We can't wait until Piper can play with him in the parks!

When you get home with it, it still works, telling jokes, trivia, and games.

The only problem: Disney has discontinued the toy!  They don't make it anymore!  However, they still function in all the parks.  If you are lucky enough to have one, don't get rid of it!  I'm sure these will be a collector's item one day.
