New to Me!

I can't even count how many times I've been to the parks.  I know I've been probably over 20 times in the past 10 years with multiple trips growing up, but no exact numbers.

Luckily, with a place like Walt Disney World, there are so many experiences for me to try!

This trip includes a few new-to-me experiences:
  • Magical Express - Our first trip without a car...  so, we decided to stay on the monorail instead!
  • Grand Floridian - I stayed there with my parents in middle school for a 3 day business trip, but Adam has never even stepped foot inside!
  • Animal Kingdom Lodge - with dinner reservations for Sanaa, I'm finally planning to see the inside of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village.. maybe we'll get to walk around both lodges!
  • Character Dining - I dined in Cinderella Castle about a decade ago, back when the Cast Members referred to me as "Princess," but there were no princesses wandering about.  This time, we've got an ADR at the Hollywood and Vine in Disney's Hollywood Studios to enjoy breakfast with some of Noah's favorites: Handy Manny, Special Agent Oso, and June and Leo from the Little Einsteins!
And, going back to an old standard - we're planning to hop off the Magical Express and head directly to the Magic Kingdom!  Too early to check into our room, no need to worry about our luggage, just time to play!

Plus, thanks to the trivia books by Lou Mongello, the Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World by Susan Veness, and Steven Barret's Hidden Mickey's Guide, I've got tons of special things to be looking for!

Do you have any special new additions or trivia finds for your next trip?  I'd love to hear all about them!

  1. Those are lots of great firsts!

Our October trip will be our first time at Food and Wine and our first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party. Very exciting stuff indeed!!

  2. We are doing a ton of new things in November! First, the entire experience will be new for my husband, who has never been, and of course for my son who will be just under a year old. I realized yesterday that all the places we made our ADRs are places I've never been to - Boma, Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, Crystal Palace and Garden Grill - and it'll be our first time staying in our DVC home resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village! Can't wait!

  3. It's getting harder and harder to find new things!!! This upcoming trip we have one new restaurant: Yak n Yeti. And we'll be traveling with my mom and dad for the first time ever! Well, if we get to go...may have to cancel if dad has to have surgery :(

Ashley, you will LOVE F&WF!!! And MNSSHP is just awesome!! Melissa, you have some awesome restaurant picks!! Boma is one of my favs!!

  4. Your trip sounds like its going to be a blast! On our next trip we are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort, attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, dining at Sanna, Boma, the Garden View Tea room, & Whispering Canyon, all for the first time. I love Disney firsts! :o)
