Finding a sweet treat at Disney's Animal Kingdom isn't as easy as it is in other places on property. There isn't a huge bakery, like the Main Street Bakery at the Magic Kingdom, or Starring Rolls, at Disney's Hollywood Studios. But, after hearing about the White Chocolate Elephant Cupcake at DAK's Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery, I knew I had to make a stop.
The difficult problem for me was finding the bakery. If you're headed towards the Kilimanjaro Safari's and see a random register, that's it. The actual bakery is a walk-up window - there's a menu and a cast member at the small kiosk, but fitting in with the locale, it can easily be overseen.
Once I finally found the bakery, I knew I wanted that cupcake. But, the menu had a several delicious descriptions of treats. I ignored everything else and chose the White Chocolate Elephant Cupcake only to be told: they were out!
Sad, I know. The cast member quickly assured me the Tamarin Monkey Cupcake was a perfect replacement.

Obviously, I had to share! Adam's not so much a chocolate person, but Noah sure enjoyed the white and dark chocolate "lollipop" monkey (don't worry - I didn't let him finish even 1/2 before I tossed it!).
This cupcake was delicious! Chocolatey, rich, and ooh ooh good. Okay, so my descriptions are lacking today. But, it's definitely a delicious and fun treat. And it's huge and perfect for sharing. I actually had to toss some of mine because Adam didn't want to share and I sure couldn't handle that whole thing on my own!
I'll definitely be checking back into that bakery on our next trip to see whatever delicious treats they have to offer!
Have you ever stopped by the Kusafiri Bakery? What are your favorite treats?
I have never heard of this, but will definitely be checking it out in the fall! Thanks for the tip!
