RIP
Good Friend Gordon
Now You've Crossed the River Jordan
Gordon Williams - There isn't much information for this original Imagineer, but I did read in several locations that he worked on the Audio-Animatronics and sound effects for the Haunted Mansion!

ReplyDeleteGordon Williams (my father), was in charge of audio, with what was once called WED (now Imagineering). He pioneered much of the technology involved with audio animatronics. He designed the sound effects, such as sound moving down the haunted hallway or even the technology involved with the sound system in your "doom buggie." Additionally, he provided sound design for the Tiki Room, Hall of Presidents, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, Small World, Carousel of Progress, etc. He loved his job with Disney... and during the Summer, I had the pleasure to go to Disneyland with him nearly weekly!
ReplyDeleteGordon passed away in 2005 at the age of 92.
