Tombstone Wednesday

Who is ready to decode more epitaphs from the Haunted Mansion tombstones?

Dear Sweet Leota,
Beloved by all
In regions beyond now,
But having a ball

Inspired by Disney Imagineer and Legend Leota (Lee) Toombs Thomas, Leota is the name of the the ghostly character who resides in the Haunted Mansion.  It is Leota's face that you pass through the crystal ball - she claims it's because her face fit the model needed!

Though her voice was considered "too girly" to be heard throughout the majority of the ride, "Little Leota" at the end reminding guests to come back and "be sure to bring your death certificate" is the true voice of Leota!

Leota played a pivotal role in creating It's a Small World, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, and even worked on Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion.

Now even her daughter is an Imagineer and has been used in the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay for the Halloween version of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion!
