Never Have I Ever...

Been to the Wilderness Lodge or the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds.

Can you believe that?  I've been on the ferries and passed by it so many times, but for some reason I haven't stopped by.

I'm planning to get over there on this next trip, even though we're staying at Old Key West, which is located a short boat ride away from Downtown Disney.

Why would I want to go there?

Wilderness Lodge is home to:

  • Whispering Canyon Cafe - a Disney fan favorite for the experience if not the food!
  • Artist Point - considered one of Disney's best restaurants
  • Chip 'n Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long
And, the Wilderness Pavilion near the Cabins at Fort Wilderness:
Similar to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, thanks to having the same architects, it's a beautiful resort that I hope to stop by and enjoy some time there!

What do you want to experience for the first time on your next trip?

  1. The back trails Segway tour at Fort Wilderness is awesome. One of the only truly bad meals I have ever had was at Artist Point (slowest service ever, overcooked food . . .) Hoop-de-doo - so fun!
The Campfire sing-along also very fun.

What I would like to do for the first time next trip, Wild Africa Trek tour at Animal Kingdom.

  2. I can't believe you've never been to either!! At Wilderness Lodge, make sure you check out the sidewalk in front of the hotel. Also explore the lounges on the upper floors. They have amazing views. Artist Point is my favorite place to eat, so don't miss it!! When the weather is nice, the resort's "backyard" is absolutely amazing.

At the Fort, the Campfire Singalong is fun, and I love to roam the grounds and visit the horses in the evening. I prefer Trail's End for lunch, and afterward, you can sit and relax while you digest on the beach.
