So, we have this fairly large blow-up elephant punching bag. It looks something like this:

It's about 3 feet tall and I think it's kind of cute.

Zachary, on the other hand, is terrified of it.

We have a playroom in our basement and it's his favorite place.  He generally wants to be held or at least incredibly close to me.  But, in our playroom, he's all over the place!

All over the place, except to see that elephant.

He's okay with Rock Star Mickey, but behind where he is sitting is that elephant.  He's terrified.  He gets the look of fear in his eyes, cries, and crawls to me as fast as possible.

We're worried that his reaction towards ginormous characters won't be as calm as Noah's first reaction.

I'm hopeful we'll find someone like Pluto that first day to introduce him on his level. Pluto was Noah's favorite for that very reason!

Here's hoping to a nice, easy, relaxing Disney trip.  Ha!

  1. I hope you do. I have a funny story and a bad first character experience. When my 3 yo dd was about 6 months, she was afraid of a Cabbage Patch doll. She would scream every time she saw it. Her first character greet was with Lotso when she was 15 months old. It did not go very well. She was excited in the line and wanting to see him. When it was our turn, he lunged at her and scared the crap out of her. She was scared of the characters and even some cast members the whole trip. Now she loves them.
