Date Night - Magic Kingdom Style!

With two little one, having a date night on vacation can be tricky.  For our past trips, we've been able to sneak out while my parents were still around to babysit, but these were always non-park days.  Non-park dates are easy to plan - fancy meals and fancy resorts (like Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge).  But, a date night with a valid park hopper?  So many options!

My first thought was - standard date - let's go grab a great meal in the World Showcase and then check out Illuminations.
EPCOT is always beautiful at night!

But, then we realized that our typical dates are dinner out... so, we decided to do something we can't do at home: go to the Magic Kingdom.

We got to ride attractions that we wouldn't normally get to ride together - Big Thunder, Space Mountain (twice!) and enjoyed the ambiance of the Magic Kingdom at night!

Dueling Dumbos really is beautiful!  It's great for a beautiful view of Wishes, but the circus music completely covers up the beautiful Wishes music.

We stayed in Storybook Circus with our fantastic view to watch the rest of the fireworks before picking up a couple of treats from the Big Top

After the big show, we went in to look at the beautiful treats

We shared a few different things -

A minnie mouse chocolate covered marshmallow (not my thing), a red velvet cake pop (marshmallow ears... that would have been good to know before we bought the 2nd chocolate covered marshmallows... we didn't eat that one, but kept the Mickey straw), and a chocolate covered fruit kabob.  My favorite - without a doubt - was the fruit.  Actually, even for a chocolate lover like me, the chocolate was a bit thick for me, but still, a very nice treat!

We had enjoying the park just the two of us - and even got to see Rapunzel's Tower before we knew it was a bathroom!

It was a perfect night - we walked onto everything with no lines.  Space Mountain had fast passes for 20 minutes after our arrival, so we picked them up and hopped in the stand by line.. and walked right on!  When we went back with our fastpasses, the lines had picked up!  Love how that works.

Without kids, we (I) had geeky Disney fun and submitted accurate wait times to Touring Plans via the Lines app, and just enjoyed our own time.

We finished the night with a leisurely stroll/shopping down Main Street U.S.A.  We bought Adam a new hidden Mickey tie, left the park, and made the bus leaving within two minutes back to Old Key West.

I absolutely love taking my little boys to the parks, but having some adult alone time was fantastic!

That's awesome! My husband and I did a date day at Disneyland a couple years ago and it was the best time! So nice to not have to ride Small World over and over for once! :-)
