Welcome back for more fantastic Disney Trivia! Thanks again to Jodi from +Magical Mouse Schoolhouse, Heidi from +Heidi's Head, and +Mike Ellis for co-hosting!
Walt Disney World's employee wardrobe consists of 1.8 million pieces. Cast members wear 2,500 different "Costumes" - as they are members of the cast and not simply workers, they were costumes, not uniforms!
My favorite example (other than the Mouse himself) - the Dapper Dans!
To the right, they are decorated for the holidays and below, they are in their every day uniforms!
Thanks for joining me! Check out all of the other great trivia being offered this week!
I've been in the costume distribution center, and it is ENORMOUS!! Not surprising it holds that many!
ReplyDeleteWow that is a lot of laundry. I love the costumes, but wonder sometimes how the people inside are holding up in the heat.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of clothes! My husband saw a lot of Mickey's heads once (some of the magic disappeared for him, just for a second though) in the castle. So many outfits, I love the detail in them all.
ReplyDeleteCrazy! where in the castle? I’ve never seen more than one at a time!

It was right after a show and my husband saw Mickey go back into the castle. He showed me the door later that evening because I was too busy trying to secure our spots for the Wishes show. This was News Years Eve '11. The door was on the left side. He just saw a glimpse as Mickey went in it rather quickly. I would of thought the heads would of been kept downstairs.
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine THAT closet!
ReplyDeleteI've never been anywhere too fancy... maybe one day!
ReplyDeleteI work in a job outside all summer in black wool. it's rough. BUT Disney is good about breaks - I've heard no more than 30 minutes (maybe even 15 in the extreme heat). That must be brutal!
ReplyDeletethat is CRAZY.. now I'm curious to find that door!
ReplyDeleteI bet it's super organized, too.. maybe they could come help me out!
ReplyDeleteTo quote Mickey, "Oh boy!" That's a lot of clothes!
