Welcome to those of you joining me from My Dreams of Disney and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail.
I have a thing for Main Street, U.S.A. It may be my favorite place to be in all of Walt Disney World. Between the Windows of Main Street that are dedicated to retired Cast Members, the Characters of Main Street that liven the place up with their performances throughout the day, the vehicles of Main Street, and best of all, the music, I love Main Street.
The Dapper Dans - the Barbershop Quartet - is always awesome. I love their uniforms, their smiles, and I loved being there for Limited Time Magic when they had Boy Band Week!

Walking a bit further down the street, you can catch Casey's Corner Piano Man strumming the ragtime style piano - playing anything from Scott Joplin to Disney tunes. He'll often be up for a quick chat or at least a nice hello while he's playing! He didn't even mind having a silly 18 month old trying to play, either!
Everything from the specialty ensembles, including the Main Street Saxophone Four and the Characters of Main Street to the music piped in gives me the happiest of Disney feelings! The piped in music is anything from turn of the century music to instrumental versions of The Music Man (hey, that movie was based in the turn of the century) and it is often in playback in my house!
What's extra special is when the Main Street Characters Join in with groups - I've seen the Characters, the Dans, and the Sax Four all together and it is magical! Definitely my favorite music in the parks!
Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Rolling with the Magic.

I love the music you can find on Main Street, USA! I was truly torn between the American Adventure and Main Street for my selection, but I think you did a much better job Jenn with this than I would have. I have on my iTunes an album by the Walt Disney World Band. It is so cool to listen too -- do you have any music from Main Street that you listen to at home?
ReplyDeleteThis makes me wish I was on Main Street right now! I love getting coffee and listening to the Trolley Show in the morning. Did you see the video of the piano player at Casey's Corner playing Let it Go? I hope I can see it live. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Main Street music. I was in the Music Man in high school and always feel nostalgic when I hear it in the Magic Kingdom. I wish I could have seen the Dapper Dans do Boy Band music. Which songs did they play?
ReplyDeleteThey did a mix of NSync, 98 Degrees, New Kids - I have the videos on the link if you want to listen!! SO funny!
ReplyDeleteI did see that video - those guys are so awesome! They make me practice piano ;-) I do like the Trolley Show, too!
ReplyDeleteI listen on D-Cot, a Disney jukebox - it's so much fun!! But, after the DTA free dining phone line debaucle, I'm still detoxing from Disney parks music!! Thanks for letting me have it - you definitely chose a great area I would have never even thought about!
ReplyDeleteWe always seem to miss the piano player near Casey's! What time would you recommend we try to catch his performance?
ReplyDeleteWe love The Dapper Dans. I think I need to have a replica costume made for my son.
I love the music of Main Street! Have you seen the video of the piano man playing Let It Go? It was great!
ReplyDeleteYES YES YES!! I totally agree! There is something purely magical about everything on Main Street! The sights, smells and sounds- I love The Dapper Dans. What was your favorite boy band song they did?
ReplyDeleteLove all the Main Street entertainment! It really adds another aspect to the experience. I also love how friendly they all are too-they stop to chat and engage people
ReplyDeleteI love Main Street but I find that I don't always take the time to stop and listen to the music there. I need to make a point to do that next time!
ReplyDeleteI sat there when I watched my husband run the half a few years ago... plus I always try to spend an hour at least walking down and perusing Main Street! I really love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to choose a favorite, but they did N'Sync "Bye, Bye, Bye".....
ReplyDeleteI have - they'er so good! I've played piano since I was 4, but always so trained on reading music - I wish I was better at just playing!
ReplyDeleteThey seem to usually have them there around lunchtimes - most of the Characters of Main Street finish their days around 3 pm, so before then! I believe they list the shows in the times guide!
ReplyDeleteThey did Backstreet Boy "Back streets back Alright" as Dapper Dans back, N'Sync, Bye bye bye - and several more!
ReplyDeleteAnother reason I LOVE just sitting on a curb, spending time to soak up the sights and sounds of Main Street, U.S.A.; it's never the same twice. One of our best family memories was eating at the Carnation Cafe, (yes, eating on this avenue is another absolute fav), and watching an impromptu performance from the Disneyland Band with Mickey leading the way. You've picked a pure Disney classic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! I unfortunately have not heard the music of Main Street much - I get their at opening and start moving through out the lands.. by the time I get back to main street it's night time.... It is a undeniable place ( Main Street USA) of great spirit and happiness!
ReplyDeleteYou're missing out! Main Street has SO much more than just shopping and a path to rides!
ReplyDeleteI haven't done Main Street Disneyland yet - can't wait to check it out and hopefully getting to see the Disneyland band!
ReplyDeleteI love riding IN the carriage when they're singing!
ReplyDeleteI love the Main Street music! The morning song is one of my favorites and it makes me truly feel like it's going to be a magical day. I listen to Disney music practically all day long, as well, and it always puts a smile on my face. GREAT choice!
